Welcome to the Derwent Sailing Squadron's marina – the largest and most technologically advanced Club marina in Tasmania, boasting a capacity for 280 vessels.

Originally opened in 1965, the John Blackwood Marina features 130 fixed pile berths ranging from 6m to 16m. In 2016, we expanded our facilities with the Roy Barkas Extension, a remarkable addition designed by Burbury Consulting and constructed by Bellingham Marine. This extension offers 140 floating berths, including 10m berths up to 30m super yacht berths. 2023 saw another 10 floating berths added with all floating berths within the marina equipped with individual power and water services.

At our marina, we prioritize the security and convenience of our owners. With advanced security measures in place, access to the marina is restricted to marina pass holders. Additionally, we provide onsite parking for added convenience and peace of mind.

Whether you're seeking a short-term stay or a permanent lease, we have options to suit your needs:

• Casual Berths: Our casual rates are available for stays ranging from 1 day up to 6 months. To secure a berth, we kindly ask you to review our terms and conditions and complete a casual berth enquiry form. We'll promptly respond to confirm berth availability and provide you with a link to complete the berth booking form.

• Permanent Leases: We offer a variety of lease options for those seeking a long-term arrangement. If you're interested in a permanent lease, please complete the enquiry form, and our team will promptly reach out to discuss availability and provide further details.

Boatyard

1. 24hr Premium Diesel Pump: We provide both high and low flow diesel pumps for your convenience, ensuring you have access to fuel whenever you need it.
2. Sewage Pump Out: Our marina offers sewage pump-out services, allowing you to conveniently and responsibly dispose of waste.
3. Haul Out Facility: We have a designated area for hauling out boats, providing a safe and efficient space for maintenance and repairs.
4. Hardstand: We have a dedicated hardstand area specifically designed for one-design yachts, ensuring a suitable space for their maintenance and care.
5. Dual Lane Trailer Boat Launching Ramps: Our marina features two lanes for launching trailer boats, allowing for smooth and efficient entry into the water.
6. Floating and Fixed Jetties: We offer two floating jetties and two fixed jetties, providing ample space for mooring and easy access to your boat for loading and unloading.
7. Trailer Boat Parking: We provide designated parking areas for trailer boats, ensuring they are securely stored when not in use.
8. Float Docks: For motor boats and jet skis, we offer float docks to ensure convenient access and safe storage.
9. Storage Sheds: Our marina includes storage sheds, offering a secure space to store your boating equipment and belongings.
10. Davits: We provide davits for tender storage, ensuring a convenient and safe solution for keeping your tender out of the water.
11. Kayak Storage: If you enjoy kayaking, we offer kayak storage options to keep your watercraft secure and easily accessible.

Additionally, we offer onsite services such as boat brokerage, sailmaking, and yacht care, ensuring all your boating needs are met conveniently in one location. We prioritize accessibility with all-ability shower and toilet facilities, as well as coin and card-operated washing and drying machines located near the marina entrance.
