Royal Hobart Regatta 2019 Sailing Program
The 2019 Royal Hobart Regatta Sailing Program has been released and can be found – here –
From the President
In its 181st year, the Royal Hobart Regatta is in the midst of generational change. We are proactively reviewing each of our water events, and also the weekend on which the event is held
– with the intention in 2020 to move away from the public holiday to a 2 day weekend. Sailing is one of the original regatta events, and with the refocus of Australian Sailing and the
Combined Clubs Harbour Series, we have taken the opportunity to enlist the assistance of the sailing community to do a major revision of the sailing events.
2019 is a prelude to moving to a 2 day weekend, and we are offering the following events on Sunday 10 February 2019:
1:30-5:15pm Brierley Marine Chandlery 2000 – Keelboat Race (2 Divisions)
6:00-7:15pm Galapagos Duck 700 – Twilight Race (2 Divisions – non-spinnaker)
It’s become a tradition for yachts to return for the Fireworks at 9:20, and we have also moved the fireworks to Sunday night. We tried this for 2018 and it was a great success.
We hope that you will join us on the river!
Geoff Lucas, President Royal Hobart Regatta
