YA Safety and Sea Survival Course – Day 3

The Yachting Australia Safety and Sea Survival Course is an INTENSIVE 11 hour course aimed to deliver up-to-date information and current techniques in an interactive and safe learning environment. The course includes a practical wet drill where candidates will become familiar with the deployment and use of a life raft, flare detonation in a controlled environment and theory sessions which should greatly enhance the chances of survival in the event of an emergency at sea.

see OBJECTIVES

To obtain a Safety and Sea Survival Course Certificate of Competence for cat 1 and recommended for cat 2 races. SSSC is valid for 5 years from the date of the course. Course will deliver theory but encourages discussion of strategies for coping with emergencies at sea. Course will familiarize students with safety equipment, its purpose, deployment and use.
