The Tasmanian Art Group began in 1970 and comprised a small selection of artists with the intention to improve the standard of work that was exhibited to the public by their selected artist membership. They met each fortnight painting together, encouraging and critiquing each other’s work, demonstrating techniques and learning from each other.
After 46 years, the basic group philosophy still exists today with members continuing to meet on a regular basis, paint together and conduct workshops for members and to share social occasions. The group continues to hold an annual exhibition. Members work in a variety of medium including watercolour, mixed media, oil, acrylic, pen and ink and pastel.
The Tasmanian Art Group will commence their 46th Annual Exhibition at the DSS from Saturday 4th November until 14th December.
Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm, and Saturdays 12pm to 6 pm unless a private function is in progress.
