Pilates @ DSS

WHEN: Thursday 12, 19 and 26 July from 9.30 – 10.30am
These sessions are open to both genders, all ages and levels of fitness. Hiroko (Pilates Instructor) provides options from beginners to advanced. Hiroko needs a minimum of 7 participants for the class to be held.

COST: $10 per session

WHAT TO BRING: preferably a yoga mat and/or a towel.

WHY DO PILATES: As we grow older, it is crucial to maintain strength and flexibility of our body, in order to maintain functional movements as well as prevent injuries. Pilates is ideal to increase strength and flexibility in both the core and the legs, which positively affects balance.

Pilates will:

  • enhance muscular control of your back and limbs
  • improve stablisation of your spine
  • improve flexibility
  • increase muscle strength and tone, particularly of your abdominal muscles, lower back, hips and buttocks (the ‘core muscles’ of your body)
  • improve posture

So, come on down to the Club and enjoy this group activity. After your session you may like to stay and enjoy a cup of coffee with friends.
